Our Mission
Treating the whole person
Good care means far more than giving good treatment. It means attending to the patient as a person, attending to fears, concerns, and images of death, dying, and pain. Good care also demands continuity of care. Therefore, patients need to be seen on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Cancer patients cannot afford to have different doctors every few weeks because this will certainly cause turbulence in the continuity and quality of care.
Dr. Philip Salem and Salem Oncology Center provide a real option for patients who previously had no options. Three of four patients who were considered terminal at leading cancer centers achieved a complete response to our treatment. Therefore, medical oncologists who feel their patients have no known options may wish to try the ICTriplexSM program.

Your Journey
Why insurance doesn't cure cancer
Insurance companies and third-party payers routinely and frequently interfere with the delivery of medical care due to financial parameters. While the objective of our Center is to cure the patient, the main aim of insurance companies, historically, is to minimize costs all too often to the detriment of the patient. In diseases other than cancer, the difference between insurance-reimbursable care and care independent of third-party payers could be the difference between excellent care and poor-quality care. But in cancer, the difference could be between life and death. What differentiates our Center is that we provide medicine and care far beyond standard norms to achieve a cure. Therefore, we do not accept any restrictions or impediments to delivering the best medical care. Accordingly, we do not accept insurance or third-party payers.
National and International Oncology Experts
In cancer therapy, there is never only one expert; therefore, before we treat any patient, we consult with a group of experts. This ensures that the patient will receive the most up-to-date and effective treatment. We consult not only with the best specialists in the Texas Medical Center but also with national and international experts.
