Dr. Khaled Jabboury, M.D.

Dr Khaled Jabboury has been in the field of cancer medicine for the last four decades. He received his oncology fellowship at the American University of Beirut, then moved into clinical research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Over the last 2 1/2 decades he spent in private practice and clinical research emphasizing optimization of frontline therapy in cancer, and personalized treatment approach.

William G. B. McCallum, M.D., FACP, FACEP, FRACP

Dr. William McCallum is an Internist, board-certified in Emergency and Internal Medicine, who maintains privileges at CHI St. Luke's Health-Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in the Texas Medical Centre. He trained at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and St. Paul’s Hospital at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He attained the rank of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. After leaving BCM in 2004, he was a Senior Consultant in Medicine in New Zealand and upon returning in 2006, he collaborated with Dr. Salem. He has a special interest in oncology which with his expertise in Internal Medicine provides an important dimension to the care of cancer patients. In 2017, Dr. McCallum took a two-year sabbatical to teach medical trainees at the University of Otago School of Medicine-Dunedin where he was a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He returned in 2020 to resume the one-on-one intensive internal medical care in all clinical settings for Dr. Salem’s patients. Dr. McCallum is fluent in Spanish and Italian as well as French and German. His national and international training and outlook is perfectly suited to the care of patients and their families from all over the world coming from many backgrounds.

Kathy Galvis, RN, BSN, ONC. Director of Nursing

Kathy became a registered nurse at the Catholic Medical Center School of Nursing in New York City in 1997, and received her B.S.N. from the University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston a few years later.

Kathy was recruited by Hermann Hospital in Houston to work in the Intensive Care Unit. Later, she joined Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine as a research nurse. Since October 2000, Kathy has been an integral member of the medical team at Salem Oncology Center.

Although born and raised in the United States, Kathy has a rich Colombian heritage, which gives her special insight into patients from various cultures.

She is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Italian.

Michelle Lodico RN, BSN. Senior Clinical Nurse

Michelle has been a nurse since 1973. Among her accomplishments are 13 years of adult and pediatric intensive care nursing, including working with Dr. Michael DeBakey's team at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. Michelle has devoted herself to Oncology Nursing, first at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Intensive Care and Emergency Room and then with Dr. Salem's team in Medical Oncology in 1989. She joined Salem Oncology Center at its inception in 1991 and has coordinated outpatient follow-up and chemotherapy treatments since that time.

Paige Peters RN, BSN. Clinical nurse

She is a native Texan raised in Brazil. Following a Bachelor Degree in International Studies from Southwestern University, Paige graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Texas Woman's University where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the Nursing Honor Society. Starting her career at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Oncology, she later joined Salem Oncology Centre. After moving to Australia, she returned in 2016 to rejoin our family here.

Michelle Carpenter, BSN RN OCN. Clinical Nurse

Michelle joined the SOC family in 2019.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2006.  She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing and Oncology Nursing Society.  In 2018, she earned her Oncology Nursing Certification.  Prior to her nursing career,  Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from William Carey College in 2001 and has worked in the medical field for over 20 years.

Eleni A. Papageorge Alexander, Director of International Public Relations and Patient Services

Eleni Papageorge has facilitated patients and families at Salem Oncology Centre with domestic and international patient care since 1997 acting both as a liaison and an advocate for the patient.  She implemented onboarding to SOC, schedules initial and ongoing medical appointments, and arranges housing and accommodations for patients and their families.  Eleni coordinates care with doctors and nurses and communicates medical diagnoses, options, and treatment plans to patients and their loved ones whose native language is not English.  In addition, Eleni has organized travel and conferences and managed patient visits for Dr. Salem and his foreign patients, accompanying him to Italy, México, Luxembourg, and Greece.  She earned a BA from the University of Houston in Italian and French.

As an immigrant, Eleni has unique insight into the challenges of navigating a complex and sometimes overwhelming culture.  A native of Greece, Eleni speaks, reads, and writes five languages fluently - Greek, English, Italian, French, and Spanish.

Milena Russom, International Patient Coordinator

Milena Russom graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Texas Southern University in May 2006. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management. Graduated with Honors Summa Cum Laude from her university. She is a member of the Dean's List of Outstanding College Students of America and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She is fluent in speaking and writing Italian, Tigrigna and conversational French. Milena has been a member of the International Patient Department at Salem Oncology Centre since May 2016. She was born in Ethiopia, raised in Italy, and educated in America.

Samia Yazbeck, Senior Executive Assistant to the President

Samia graduated as a registered nurse in1986. She joined the Salem Oncology Center team in September 1999.

Nicky Johnson, Administrative Assistant

Nicky Johnson is currently a secretary at Salem Oncology Center. A proud graduate of Kaplan University, with an associate's degree in Business Administration. She has been a medical secretary for 5 plus years and has a passion for helping others. She joined Salem Oncology in 2023.
